GUADALAJARA DAY TWO

I hope you've enjoyed my DAY ONE recap of our amazing #ChicagoTakesMexico trip to Guadalajara. Now it's time for me to tell you all about Day TWO!

Day two started out with a gorgeous rooftop breakfast at Café Barra Café with an incredible view of downtown Guadalajara. I don't think I've mentioned before but Guadalajara is considered one of the fashion capitols of Mexico, and voted as the jewelry capitol by the Fashion Council two years in a row.

Jewels are a major deal in Guadalajara and I'm talking non machine mass produced, all hand made stunning pieces. We got the pleasure of meeting two very distinct jewelry designers, Olavarrieta Jewelry, and a double label called Cuzan  and Mackech! The designers were so talented and sweet and gifted us some of their signature pieces. Olavarrieta Jewelry even created custom pieces based on our style and blogs! So special and amazing. I also fell in love with Mackech glass blown beetles. I couldn't resist and bought myself the stunning set!

WHAT I WORE

After our marvelous breakfast, all jeweled up and ready to go,  we were off to the extraordinary Hacienda el Carmen which used to be a convent and has now been converted to a spectacular boutique hotel and spa. I can't even describe how surreal these grounds are. The Hacienda has it's own horses, is surrounded by mountenesque views, grows it's own 100% organic produce and believes in farm to table concepts from produce to meats and poultry... ahh the food! Beyond insane.

The rooms are all unique, from grottos to swimming pools in the middle of the bedroom Hacienda el Carmen was truly a gem and it was a concstant pinch me moment experiencing it's grounds and spa services! This mama needed it...

All relaxed and ready to party we were off to dinner at Alcalde voted as the #1 restaurant in North America by Travel and Leisure. Yes it was that good!!!

After dinner we headed out for a little girls night at Nativo a super swanky lounge in the heart of the biggest party street in Guadalajara. If you ever get a chance to visit check it out. The drinks are insane, the music is fantastic and the place is packed with the most beautiful people you've ever seen!

If that wasn't a perfect night? The gorgeous, and I mean gorgeous, young and beyond talented designer Theresa met up with us for drinks and gifted us the most beautifully hand made leather backpacks. I got the silver one, it's my favorite I haven't taken it off. Check out her collection the leathers are divine and she works with disabled children to help them get their creativity on. She has a very special company that gives back!

Nativo also created custom drinks based on our profile... mine was muy caliente, just the way I like it! Ahhh what a night! Stay tuned for day three next....
