CHRISTMAKAH 2019

It's the MOST wonderful time of the year! We love the holidays and technically we are a blended family, who celebrates both Christmas and Hannukkah. Quite frankly it's an opportunity to get together with family, create memories and get loud and crazy, just like my family always does. We are quite loud I have to admit. We yell, we scream, we argue with passion and we love hard, really hard. Family is EVERYTHING in my book.

You guys know I love a good theme. Any reason to get dressed up and or, simply make fun of each other. Cause quite frankly that's the kind of family we are. We need a little, ok a lot, of laughter in our life! Heck, we all do. Life is full of struggles and all kinds of drama. So the least we can do is look completely ridiculous from time to time. This year the theme was... DYNASTY! We've done ugly Christmas Sweater, Holiday Bonanza, Plaid and a few others before. In case you're looking for a fun theme for your next Holiday Party.

One thing is for sure. My whole family loves to cook so we always do an elevated table. We love to eat too... a lot! This year on the menu we had a charcuterie and cheese board to start with a champagne toast. For appetizers, we had salad Olivier, caviar and blinis, arugula salad with pomegranate, maple glazed pecans in a citrus dressing, my black truffle deviled eggs, and I picked up some hot smoked salmon from BBQ Baron.

For the second course we had lobsters, garlic smashed (not mashed) potatoes, and my hubby smoked some ribs. We finished off with entirely too much dessert and almost passed out on the couch! It was perfect!!!

I realized that not everyone has a perfect holiday. Believe me, I get it. Not all our get-togethers have been perfect and we are by no means a perfect family. However, we are who we are and we love each other deep. I wish you and your loved ones this holiday season to really relish the moment. Holidays can be stressful. We are rushing through them. Shopping, traveling, packing, cooking, hosting, wrangling, etc. Take a moment, take it in. It goes by way too fast! Remember these are the memories you make... they are priceless!
