BOSTON PROPER

As sad as I am to admit it... summer is almost all gone. It's crazy to think that Fashion week is less then two weeks away, kids are back in school and warm weather sundresses and shorts are about to become a thing of the past.

However, I am certainly excited about transitioning into fall, layering  pieces, crispy air, busting out my boots and cozying up in sweaters.

I'm eager to bring you some fall fashion inspiration via Boston Proper and my Downtown Edit. As you know, me being an 'URBAN SUBURBAN', means one thing. I typically like to dress once, therefore I love looks that can transition from day to night and from one location to another without having to change my entire look.

I love blazers, and this one is perfect to throw over shoulders, pair it up with denim, or do as I did here... with cropped trousers and a sneaker. Now picture this, add a pump and you're ready for a night out or a formal day meeting.

Let's talk sweater dresses. I love them! This one totally reminds me of the good'ol Yves Saint Laurent days circa 1980's and guess what? The 80's & 90's are definitely here to stay this season.

Dying for this piece, picture it paired with ripped skinny cuffed denim, booties and a white button down underneath. Now wear the dress as a coat. Chic, cool and totally unexpected!

Like the way I'm waring it here? Here's another option, add an opaque tight and an over the knee boot and you give this sweater dress a whole new vibe!

Sweatshirts! This super easy to wear and obviously comfortable staple is no longer just for the gym or mom runs. The athleisure trend is in full swing and this sweatshirt takes the cake, and the look to a whole new level.

I paired mine with a leather skirt and mules for that date night, girls night, playful look. Throw on some booties or sneakers and the look is completely different.

I also love the idea of layering a white button down or a collard shirt underneath, with leather pants or skinny chinos for a more polished feel. So yes! There are plenty of ways to wear a fun sweatshirt this fall.

The anorak jacket, another classic of fall but this patch star one gives the plain GI JANE a little je ne sais quoi!

I'm all about transitioning and I've been wearing this denim skirt all summer long. It perfectly transitions into fall with a cool boot and this star jacket!

Need another idea? A turtleneck midi dress, a booty and throw the jacket on your shoulders. It will give you that whole easy downtown girl vibe!
